Working Bee Wrap

The weekend has exceeded any expectation that a committee could expect from its players, supporters and its committee members.

I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who gave us their time over the weekend . I know i aim high at times but even I have been blown away with efforts and the results .

Troy, thank you for the buy in and please thank all the players for Friday , Saturday and Sunday and the efforts they provided .I think we had almost every player give us their time and many of them went home with blisters and sore backs .

A special thanks to Matt Dunne who gave us four days of exceptional work and rebuilt our club . Matt your time and efforts will be with us for a long time and the place looks magnificent .

Also a big thank you to Jimmy Clayton who operated the dingo on Friday night and Carl Gwynne who a heap of work behind the scenes to organise materials .

Our concerted efforts have put us on the front foot and with the new scoreboard and the new Haydn Tracy bar happening in the next few weeks it is exciting times .

Thank you all.

Mic Dunne

MEFNC excited to launch our new website!

Yes, after many weeks of work and tireless efforts from our web guru Peter Crawley-Boevey from The Essential Story-video production – we are excited to announce the new website is up and running!

In 2016 Mt Eliza FNC are committed to the improvement in our overall communications strategy and you will find the club website, in addition to club social pages – will provide a great platform for resources, events, match reports, exciting news, president’s addresses and any other item MEFNC related.

Although we are excited about the new site, we also advise that it is still in its infancy and may require tweaks now and then as we go.  We welcome your feedback – please let us know what you think and any additions you might find useful.

Again thank you to Pete @ The Essential Story and the committee; we look forward to continuing the better communication avenues between member, sponsor, player and supporter.

Dave Hand has played at Warrandyte in the EFL for the last 6 years. He played  representative footy in the EFL and has been Ruckman of the Year for the last 2 season in the EFL. We would like welcome Dave to the Redlegs to bolster our ruck division for season 2016.

Carly Webster joins Mt Eliza as Netball Head Coach

We are excited to announce the appointment of our Netball Head Coach for season 2016.

Carly Webster comes to Mt Eliza with a range of formal qualifications as well as netball experience. Carly is a qualified Sports Therapist specialising in sport psychology and current works with AFL club (Richmond) in this capacity. She holds her Netball Vic coaching accreditation and has been coaching for the past 4 years, most recently coaching and overseeing all 4 grades at Bonbeach Football Netball Club. Carly also coaches Peninsula Waves U17’s in the VNL pathway. Originally from the Yarra Valley she has played for over 20 years representing Mountain District & Yarra Valley at representative level as well as playing Football Netball in more recent times for Bonbeach A grade. Carly will be a great addition as a player and coach to help take the club to the next level.

In addition to Carly, we also wish to welcome Jo Camilleri to our coaching staff for 2016.

Jo brings to the club 15 years of coaching experience at school level as well as experience coaching representative level netball at Kingston. As well as Jo’s official coaching accreditation she is also an experienced player, having started in the Goulburn Valley League Jo played representative netball for Shepparton as well as Vic Churches & premier league in Melbourne. Not to mention Jo was the MPNFL league MVP in 2015 while playing at Bonbeach. Jo is a teacher outside of netball and enjoys a range of other sports and fitness inspired hobbies, no doubt she will be a great addition both on and off the court in a playing and coaching capacity in 2016.

Please join with us as we welcome both Carly and Jo to the Mt Eliza Football Netball community – and wish them all the best for season 2016.
